[00:00:00] Hi, it's Olga Zarr from SEO SLY, so this video is part of the series of videos where I talk about my favorite SEO tool as of now, which is Quora, SEO SLY, SEO done right. I'm Olga Zarr, an SEO consultant in SEO since 2012. Don't forget to subscribe to learn SEO for free with me. Now let's get into the show.
[00:00:26] By Ted Kubaitis, Quora is a very advanced SEO tool that allows you to kind of decipher the algorithm a little bit and kind of find all those little things, all those little factors that may be important for your sites and if you take care of them you can expect higher rankings in a very huge nutshell.
[00:00:49] Quora tool also has a bunch of inbuilt tools and one of those tools is a volatility tool which, which I'm going to show you in this video. But basically The volatility tool allows you to see how volatile or how stable your rankings are. And it is different than rank trackers because most rank trackers check your position once a day, just once.
[00:01:18] And as we all know, the positions vary. widely, and very often you check the position, you have position three, your client checks, they have position five, and they get mad at you. And, what really matters is how much, what percentage of the time you are on a given position, because if you run ten consecutive searches, and out of those ten searches, you are on position two, but just once, you It means that you don't really have a lot of that second position because you appeared only there only once, right?
[00:01:59] So 20 percent of the time you are, 10 percent of the time you are on position two and the rest you are not even there. So it's. It's really not a win having that volatile position. And this tool, allows you to actually measure that and see how much of the time you are on position, on a specific position, or whether Google is testing you on various positions, whether Google is showing multiple, uh, URLs from your site, which may indicate there is a cannibalization issue.
[00:02:33] So very, very important, very diagnostic, and it is definitely worth knowing whether you are stable, whether Google is testing you, and whether maybe there is some cannibalization going on and how stable your, competitors are. So let me, let me show you now the tool. So this is the Quora SEO volatility tool.
[00:02:58] You can access it by simply clicking on volatility in Quora, and then this will open. And in settings, you can choose what, sites you want to mark within that volatility tool. Uh, I added just my domain. And here you, you check whether this is going to be desktop, mobile, United States, uh, or specific location.
[00:03:21] So let it be desktop, , best SEO newsletters, and how many samples you want to run. So I think 10 is in most cases the best choice, so run. And, the tool is now running those searches, and once the searches are done, uh, there will be a report, which will show me exactly how stable I am and how stable my competitors are.
[00:03:47] So once the tool finishes, finishes, its work, I will show you the report, and we'll briefly discuss how stable I am for a keyword phrase, best SEO newsletter. So actually I wanted to type best SEO newsletters, but let's see if I am, seen for that one. Very curious to, to learn that. So, The request number eight, so we are almost there.
[00:04:15] Nine, ten will be there in just a second. Okay, so I have the report here. This is the report and, as you can see, best SEO newsletter. So my page, my actual page is on position seven. Which is quite nice, because here I can see all of those other blog posts, are simply lists of SEO newsletters, and this is just my SEO newsletter page.
[00:04:43] Of course, this page has been,, optimized with Quora. And I'm also in position 16, uh, 9, uh, where is my list of SEO newsletters. So, quite okay. And as you can see, here you can see how stable those rankings are. So Ahrefs is very stable. Lydia Infante is very stable as well. When it comes to me, I, I am 5, 30, 6, 5.
[00:05:09] So Google is. Sure, but maybe not 100%. This one is also fluctuating. Usually, the lower the rankings, they are fluctuating more. And here's an important thing that tells you how many, what percentage of time this specific URL was in search results. So when, when there is something below 100, it means you didn't appear for some of, for some of those searches.
[00:05:38] So seeing 100 percent and seeing stable rankings here is This is what you want to see, basically. And of course the report allows you to also click, and see a specific page, but that's, I think, more or less what I wanted to show you. So as you can see, this is way more diagnostic than what you have in rank trackers, which check the site just once every day.
[00:06:06] And maybe at that once, you weren't there or you were. lower and, this may skew your entire rank tracking report because the rank tracker may show, for example, losses. While, in fact, Google was just testing you because Google now wants to show you higher on the page. So, this gives you simply, I would say, a better picture of how things are.
[00:06:32] And, I have a special for, my followers. So if you use the link below, you can get Quora 25 percent off. So I strongly recommend you give this tool a try. You don't have to, like, subscribe to it at infinitum. you can just test it and see how it works for you.
[00:06:54] So that's all from me. If you like this video, please give it thumbs up, subscribe, and see you in the next video. Bye bye!
