SEO Consultant Vs SEO Employee. Which One Are You Meant To Be?

In this episode of the SEO Podcast by #SEOSLY, I discuss the differences between being an SEO employee and working as an independent SEO consultant. As someone who has been in both positions, I share the pros and cons of each. I explain what a typical SEO job entails - set hours, paid time off, limited income potential but steady salary and bonuses.

As a consultant, you run your own business which gives flexibility but also accountability and uncertainty. However, you can charge higher rates and have room for faster growth.

I share why working for someone else was personally frustrating for me, as well as the reasons why I ended up working more hours as a consultant out of passion despite having intended for more free time.

I also touch on the opportunities for continued SEO learning and experiments when you consult directly with clients who allow quick implementation. Overall this video contrasts both worlds so you can better decide where you fit - whether you prefer more structure or higher earnings potential and autonomy.

My goal is to provide value through my knowledge and experience to help you advance your own SEO career. Let me know if you have any other questions!
